Create a Character Competition – Bridgend Children’s Literature Festival

Are you a budding artist or illustrator with a big imagination? Why not design your own book character for our new competition!

The competition starts on Saturday, 20th May 2023 and closes on Saturday, 17th June 2023. Please submit your entry to your local Awen Library.

The winner will receive £25 in book tokens, a drawing goody bag and have their character turned into your own plush toy! The second-place prize winner will receive a copy of Rob Biddulph’s book ‘Draw with Rob’ and a drawing goody bag. Winning entries will be displayed in Awen Libraries and on our website.

The details are below:

Opening date – Saturday, 20th May 2023.

Closing date – Saturday, 17th June 2023.

All entries to be handed in to your local libraries by the closing date.

Suggested age range – 5 – 11 years old. Target Primary Schools.

Prizes – 1st Prize – £25 in book tokens, a drawing goody bag and have your character turned into your own plush toy.

2nd Place Prize – a copy of Rob Biddulph’s book ‘Draw with Rob’ and a drawing goody bag.

Theme – Reading or books.

Inspiring a lifelong love of reading, celebrating stories and bringing books to life.
